Technical Assistance and Farmer Support

CARCD’s Ag & Watershed Program created the Ag TA Task force in 2022 to learn from and support technical assistance providers in agricultural conservation. The Ag TA Support Task Force is a diverse group of RCD TA providers and partners that convenes monthly to provide support to Ag TA providers around coordination and relevant science and policy. We meet on the first Monday of each month from 2-3 PM. If you are interested in joining this meeting, please contact elena-bischak@carcd.org or emily-smet@carcd.org.

CARCD has several programs aimed at directly supporting small farmers in California. These include our CDFA funded CUSP Drought relief program, which provided $1 million in direct reimbursement grants to small farmers negatively affected by the 2019-2022 drought. CARCD also leads a program with several RCDs and Kitchen Table Advisors to provide joint business and conservation consulting to small and beginning farmers in the East Bay, Central Coast, and Sacramento Valley.
