Forestry and Fire Resilience
California’s RCDs are critical in combating the state’s forest health crisis. RCDs are local leaders with boots on the ground implementing forest resilience projects across boundaries, and with a diversity of partners. As the state calls upon RCDs to grow their capacity to meet forestry needs, CARCD’s forestry program grows alongside. Our forestry program supports the roughly 40 RCDs with forestry programs via pass-through-grants, workshop series, targeted education and training, and advocacy. CARCD’s forestry program has eight primary project areas, with a throughline emphasis on supporting RCDs’ forest resilience work on non-industrial private forest lands.
