Conservation for Individuals. What you can individually you may do in your own community to assist in conservation.
What Is Citizen Monitoring?
Citizen Monitoring is monitoring of the environment by volunteers within the community who are interested in watershed protection and preservation. Citizen Monitoring can consist of visual monitoring like stream walks which aid in documenting things like abandoned chemical containers or barriers to fish passage. Chemical monitoring and biological monitoring vary greatly among groups, depending on the purpose for monitoring and the resources available to groups.

"Our ideals, laws and customs should be based on the proposition that each generation, in turn, becomes the custodian rather than the absolute owner of our resources and each generation has the obligation to pass this inheritance on to the future."
- Charles Lindbergh,
